With 35 years of dedicated service in nursing, Rajammal have built a career grounded in compassion, clinical excellence, and continuous learning. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and found her true calling in Neonatology: a field that continues to inspire and motivate her.
As a Senior Nurse Manager, she manages the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where she leads a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering the highest standard of care to the tiniest and most vulnerable infants. Her work is driven by a strong commitment to quality improvement and have led numerous projects aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and safety within the NICU setting.
Teaching and mentoring the next generation of nurses is her passion. A strong advocate for family integrated care, she makes it a priority and ensures direct care nurses engage parents as active partners in the care of their tiny ones. She believes that empowering families plays a crucial role in the development of neonates

Clinical Associate Professor Tan Lay Lok is a senior consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with a special interest in obstetric medicine and high risk pregnancy. Following his fellowship with Professor Michael de Swiet at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, he has developed several multidisciplinary obstetric services caring for mothers with diabetes, cardiac, rheumatological, hematological, kidney and other medical conditions at the Singapore General Hospital. He has peer reviewed publications and book chapters in these areas, and organizes regular courses and meetings in maternal medicine and peripartum management. He has also been actively involved, either as chair or committee member, in holding international congresses in O&G for the OGSS, including the 2018 RCOG World Congress held in Singapore. He has also been a regular invited speaker at both local and regional meetings. Currently, he is the head of the Maternal Fetal Medicine department at the KK Women’s and Children’s hospital which oversees almost 12 thousand deliveries annually. He is also actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and is also the Vice Chair of Education for the Singhealth OBGYN Academic Clinical Programme. He has been President of the College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists since 2021, and oversaw the publication of guidelines on the management of COVID-19 in pregnancy and COVID-19 vaccination in pregnancy.

Dr. Azanna Ahmad Kamar is an Associate Professor and Consultant Neonatologist at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A UM MBBS graduate herself, she received further training in paediatrics and neonatology at the Paediatric Institute of Hospital Kuala Lumpur and in Dublin, Eire. She is the present Head of the Department of Paediatrics. Her passion for paediatric bioethics led her to complete her certification in Paediatric Bioethics from Children’s Mercy Hospital, University of Missouri, Kansas City, USA in 2016. Besides teaching paediatrics and neonatology, she also teaches the Special Population course of the Masters of Health in Research Ethics (MOHRE) programme, with interests in neonatal end-of-life issues, the impact of medical innovations, technology dependence, shared decisions, and sociocultural influences in decision-making. She is also a keen advocate of quality improvement initiatives, research in infection control, innovative neonatal engineering, neonatal ventilation, neonatal transport, resource allocation, and infant nutrition. She champions prematurity awareness by promoting awareness of complications related to preterm births. She is a past President of the Perinatal Society of Malaysia (Council 2016/2017); a member of the Malaysian Bioethics Community (MBC) and Clinical Ethics Malaysia (CEM); team member of the South East Asia Early Nutrition Academy (ENEA-SEA) e-learning infant nutrition platform under EU-Erasmus e-learning collaboration; the head of the Research and Publications committee of the Federation of Asia-Oceania Perinatal Societies (FAOPS); steering committee member of the Malaysian National Neonatal Registry (MNNR); scientific chairperson of the FAOPS 2022 congress; a champion of the Malaysian Prematurity Awareness Programme; a past Organising/ Scientific Chair of the Kuala Lumpur International Neonatology Conference (KLINC) and is a member of the Lancet Child Health Commission on the Future of Neonatology advising group.

Dr. FC Cheah is currently the Professor of Paediatrics (Neonatology) and senior consultant neonatologist at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur. He has been the consultant at the NICU of UKM, for more than 15 years, and was the Head of the unit from 2009-2014. Prof. Cheah completed specialty training in general paediatrics in 1997. His neonatology subspecialty training commenced in 1997 in the Mater Mothers’ Hospital in Brisbane, Australia and subsequently in the Maternity Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, followed by a neonatal fellowship in the Christchurch Women’s Hospital, New Zealand, where he also obtained his PhD (Otago) and the FRACP in 2003. He received further postdoctoral research experience, mentored by Prof. Alan Jobe in the USA. Prof. Cheah is active in translational research and collaborative trials with international centres. He is an accredited trainer in neonatology and the Programme Director for Neonatology sub-Specialty training in UKM.

Dr. Choo Yao Mun graduated with honours from Monash University Australia for his undergraduate degree. He is a member of the United Kingdom Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He completed his neonatal training at Sydney’s Royal Children’s Hospital, Australia. He is currently an Associate Professor and senior consultant neonatologist at the Department of Paediatrics, Faculty of Medicine University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His current research interests include cochrane systematic reviews, neonatal jaundice, resuscitation, sepsis, nutrition, neonatal microbiota and baby cry analysis. Dr. Fathi Ramly is a lecturer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at UiTM Sungai Buloh Campus, where he also serves as a Clinical Specialist & MFM Trainee at Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah UiTM. He obtained his qualifications in Medicine and the field of Obstatetrics and Gynaecology MB Bch BAO (Hons) 2010, MRCPI (Obs & Gynae) Ireland 2016, MRCOG (UK)2018, DROBGYN (UKM) 2018, and Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal-Medicine (UKM) 2023 Dr. Ramly's passion for integrating technology into medical education and practice is evident through his active involvement in various university and external IT-related activities. Within the university, he plays a pivotal role in the Clinical Simulation Centre committee, enhancing medical education through simulation-based learning. He has also led initiatives such as the Facilitator for Educamp UiTM and Research workshop Obgyn UiTM series with Birmingham University and Urogynaecology Webinar Series, running courses in virtual clinic for outpatient consultation for COVID 19, showcasing his commitment to leveraging technology for educational purposes. Outside the university, Dr. Ramly continues to contribute to IT-related endeavors, serving as a facilitator for courses, delivering talks on obstetrics emergencies and breastfeeding, and participating in online webinars on topics such as COVID-19 prevention in prison visits,. His current project focuses on the validation and usability testing of Moirai Momcare™ Apps, demonstrating his keen interest in software and computer-related information technology, particularly in the context of improving personal antenatal care and health education.

Dr. Nadzratulaiman binti Wan Nordin serves as a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Specialist in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). With a special interest in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM), she brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Dr. Nadzratulaiman obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Obstetrics (MB BCh BAO) from the National University of Ireland in 2005, followed by a Master's degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MObGyn) from the University of Malaya in 2013. Her dedication to advancing women's health is evident through her involvement in various research initiatives and professional organizations. As the Group Leader of the Research Initiative Group (RIG) Women Wellness Research Group in 2016, Dr. Nadzratulaiman played a pivotal role in spearheading research efforts aimed at enhancing women's health and well-being. Additionally, she is a Lifetime Member of the Obstetrics & Gynaecologists Society of Malaysia (OGSM) and the Perinatal Society of Malaysia (PSM), reflecting her commitment to the advancement of obstetrics and gynaecology in the country. Dr. Nadzratulaiman is also an active member of international organizations, including the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (ISUOG). Dr Wong Chee Sing obtained his MD from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2004. He subsequently served the community in Sabah before earning his Master in Paediatrics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2012. Dr Wong Chee Sing is currently working as Neonatologist at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun Ipoh. His experience is enhanced by his subspecialty training at Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney. He was the Honorary Secretary of the Perinatal Society of Malaysia from 2018 to 2022 and is the current Assistant Secretary(2023/2024). He is a certified NRP and APLS instructor. His special interest is Neonatal Haemodynamics and is involved in postgraduate students and postbasic neonatal nursing teaching.

Zaleha graduated with a basic medical degree from UKM in 1989. Between 1992 and 1998, she trained and obtained the MRCOG (elevated to FRCOG in 2018), Masters in Ob-Gyn (UKM), and a Doctorate in Medicine (Newcastle University, United Kingdom). She is currently Professor and Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at UKM Medical Centre, having finished a threeyear term as Dean of the UKM Faculty of Medicine in February 2019. Between February 2016 and November 2017, she was also the Director of UKM’s teaching hospital. She has chaired the Malaysian national clinical postgraduate programmes entrance examination (MedEx) Steering Committee and the MMC Specialty Sub-Committee for Obstetrics and Gynaecology training since 2019, and the MMC Housemanship Education Sub-Committee since 2022. In 2022, she was elected Fellow of the Academy of Sciences of Malaysia. She has published 133 articles in journals, several books and chapters in books, and more than 150 conference abstracts and proceedings. She is an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Medicine, Frontiers in Surgery, BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, and Scientific Reports (a Nature Portfolio journal). Presently she heads the Health Technology Innovation Lab in UKM, and her current research interests include healthcare virtual reality, medical drone development, mobile app design for antenatal care (MyMOMS), and a customized Malaysian fetal growth chart (GROW-My). She is currently the Honorary Secretary and course instructor of the Malaysian Society for Simulation in Healthcare (MaSSH), a trainer in iCOE (Intensive Course in Obstetric Emergencies), a Research Committee member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), and was previously President of the Perinatal Society of Malaysia (2019-2021). She is an avid cyclist and holds a Black Belt in Taekwondo since 2011.
